REQUIREMENTS MM2H IN WEST-MALAYSIA AND SABAH

ELIGIBILITY

The program is open to all foreign citizens except those from Israel and Yugoslavia. Successful participants are allowed to bring their dependants.(wife and children)

FINANCES / INCOME

Updates MM2H

Below 50 years of age

1)Fixed deposit of RM300.000,- or US$75,000 (± 67.500,- Euro) and show extra Cash of RM200.000,- or more in bank statements.

2)Show latest 3 months off-shore income of at least RM10.000,- per month ( Remuneration from company, Retirement Pension, Rental Income, any other stable income and return from Investments)

3)You can withdraw RM240.000,- or USD60,000 (± 54.000,- Euro )after one (1) year from the fixed deposit.

4)Must maintain a minimum balance of RM60.000,- or USD15,000 (± 13.500,- Euro )from second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia  under this program

Above 50 years of age

1)Fixed deposit of RM150.000,- or US$40,000 (± 33.750,- Euro ) OR monthly off-shore income of RM10.000,- /US$2,500 (± 2.250 Euro), ( show latest 3 months) from Government pension benefit, from the foreign country and show extra Cash of RM200.000,- or more in bank statements.

2)You can withdraw RM90.000,- or US$25,000 (± 20.000,- Euro ) after one (1) year

3)Must maintain a minimum balance of RM60.000,- or USD15,000 (± 13.500,- Euro ) from second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this programme

"Applicants are expected to be financially capable of supporting themselves for 10 years on this programme in Malaysia, without the need to work in the country. Besides fulfilling the basic financial criteria of Fixed Deposit placement of RM150,000 (for those aged 50 and above) or RM 300,000 (for those aged below 50), applicants should furnish documentation on their financial position to strengthen their applications"

IMPORTANT NOTE :

The money can only be withdrawn to purchase a residential properties, education for children in Malaysia and for medical purposes only.

For residential property purchase, the sales and purchase agreement has to be signed AFTER the 1 year period. Otherwise, it is not valid. and you cannot withdraw to purchase the property.

The deposit can only be made in banks in Malaysia only (all banks - foreign or Malaysian banks). Deposit cannot be placed in a Malaysian bank overseas.

All deposits has to be made in Malaysian Ringgit only

For those who have applied using the old condition (fixed deposit) - after one year, you can withdraw the money but must leave RM60,000 in the bank.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

Medical insurance coverage by insurance companies operating in Malaysia. The cutoff age for medical insurance is 60/65 (depending on insurance companies) and you can renew the insurance until you are 70/75. Medical insurance starts from RM350 for a no-frills package to full and comprehensive insurance coverage. Medical insurance coverage is required for all applicants (including spouse and children)

MEDICAL REPORT

Medical checkup is required for all participants (including spouse and children). It will be done only when you come in for passport endorsement, not during application.

POINTS TO NOTE:

Visa holders are NOT allowed to work or seek employment in Malaysia.

Property purchase is NOT a requirement. You can rent a place to stay if you want to

There is NO "minimum-days-to-stay-in-Malaysia" requirement for this visa.

As long as you meet the requirements, you can renew this visa indefinitely.

To do business under MM2H visa (only shareholder), you must have a local partner

BENEFITS OF JOINING MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME

1)You are entitled to purchase one car tax-free ( fabricated in Malaysia ) OR you are allowed to import your own car tax-free

2)Each participant is allowed to purchase up to two units of residential houses at a minimum prices above RM250,000 each, depending on the location of the property. ( visa not require )

New! You´re allowed to purchase more than two houses in Malaysia per 12 may 2007.

Generally the minimum price for the purchase of houses in Malaysia are as follows:

a) Above RM300,000 / RM350,000 each for certain areas in the state of Sarawak

b) Above RM250,000 each for all the other States in Malaysia.


3) No taxes on the income brought into Malaysia.
 
4) You are allowed to stay in Malaysia (without leaving the country) until the visa expires and you don't need to leave the country during renewal.

The status of the application will be known in 3 or 4 months time in West Malaysia, because every application has to go through one district and 1 month in the State of Sabah.

Tip! When you apply in Sabah, than you can stay in Sabah and in West Malaysia as well.

Effective 1 June 2007, all MM2H applications are to be submitted through licensed MM2H agents only. No individual applications will be entertained.
